TIMES ARE CHANGING

Historically, the screen entertainment industry matured to the point where the studios and distributors merged into a few big players that controlled that market. Today, fast internet and accessible streaming services have broken that stranglehold.
The success of early market disruptors is being emulated by tech companies outside the entertainment market, such as Amazon and Google. Traditional studios are now playing catch up through platforms such as Disney+ and Foxtel Now, which brings us to a never-before-seen of era of opportunity…

Apple will invest $6 billion annually to purchase new content.

Amazon is estimated to have a budget of $6 billion for new content.

Netflix announced a budget of $17 billion to purchase new content.

SO, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?

The competition for original content is fierce.

It is a market for content creators.

It is a market for investors.

Sandalwood Entertainment has been created to enter this market as an Australian developer of content. With new big players emerging and looking for exciting original film content, now is the time to invest.

INVESTOR INSPIRATION

A case study highlighting the untapped potential of upcoming talent in Australia
and
what success looks like.
One of the most commercially successful producer, writer and director in the world developed his craft is Australia. In 2018 he directed Aquaman for Warner Bros. which grossed US $1.15 billion.
But it wasn’t an easy path to success.
As a new graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, in Melbourne, James was unable to get any production company in Australia to take his low budget horror seriously. That horror project was Saw; a film that grossed $US103 million on a $US1.3 million budget. It went on to spawn eight films which have now grossed $US976 million worldwide.
